It will make all the difference. Therefore:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply masking tape to all areas that encounter a surface that you do not want to paint and protect the floor;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sandpaper to smooth the surface. This will create a slightly rough surface that the paint will adhere to; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the surface has thick paint or marks from a previous painting, you may need to use a paint stripper to achieve a smooth finish;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After sanding, it thoroughly cleans the surface;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cleaning the surface helps to remove any dirt and dust. Any dirt stuck in a new layer of paint will be very noticeable. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use our Decision Matrix and understand which primer and finishing paint you need (or some Direct-to-Surface or 2-in-1);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Application of the painting scheme;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure you&#8217;ve stirred the paint properly before you start painting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using a brush, apply a layer of the primer, recommended in the Matrix;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let it dry and then apply two\/three coats of the finishing paint<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p><strong><em>Tip: In case you use a Direct-to-Surface or 2-in-1, you will not need primer, however you will need to apply 2\/3 coat.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What you need to know to paint metal surfaces.
